On Wednesday, April 16th, we had grade level assembles to learn about the Kids Heart Challenge. This program helps the kids learn about keeping their hearts happy and healthy. They can sign up and decide on a challenge and earn prizes along the way. This program also raises money for the American Heart Association. Join us in learning about heart health and raising funds to protect all hearts – especially other kids’! Through fun activities we’ll discover ways to take care of our hearts and brains while practicing kindness, gratitude and learning ways to de-stress. Plus, we have the chance to earn PE equipment for our school! All donations are due by Monday, May 5th. If you have any questions about the challenge, please contact Mrs. Peterson.

Please join us on the night of Wednesday, April 30th at the South Beloit High School to hear Riverview students perform their Spring songs and see the artwork that they have created this school year. Doors will be open at 5:30 pm.
Music Concerts will be held in the South Beloit High School Auditorium. 2nd grade will perform at 6:00 pm; 3rd Grade at 6:30 pm; and 4th grade at 7:00 pm.
The Art Show will be help in the South Beloit High School Cafeteria. Stop and view students' artwork anytime between 5:30 - 7:00pm.

On Thursday, May 15th, you are invited to attend our Spelling Bee in Riverview's gym. Third will be at 8:15; Fourth Grade at 9:00; and Second Grade at 9:45. Come join the fun.

South Beloit Food Pantry will be Wednesday, May 21st from 4:00PM- 6:00PM at Blackhawk Elementary. Pantry is for ALL families in South Beloit. When school district is closed because of weather conditions the pantry will be closed. SOBO food pantry is completely free and open to the community. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

On Monday, May 20th, Riverview will be hosting Battle of the Books. Third grade classrooms read "Shiloh" and will start at 8:15. Fourth grade classrooms read "Frindle" and will start at 9:00. Second grade classrooms read "Junie B. Jones Smells Something Fishy and will start at 9:45. Everyone is welcome to see which class wins each battle.

Riverview students will be participating in a Jog-a-thon on Friday, May 23rd from 10:00-11:00 am. The Purpose of the jog-a-thon is to raise money for our school while getting some exercise out on the path.

We will be running/jogging/walking on the path around the playground. Students will scan their Marathon Kids running cards to keep track of their laps.

Each student is asked to find sponsors (friends and family) that will donate money to our jog-a-thon cause.
A Prize will be given to the student that raises the most money and to the student that runs the most laps.

Riverview's Field Day is Friday, June 2nd. Students will be wearing their class shirts and playing games throughout the day. Please send sun lotion and a water bottle to protect your child from the sun and to keep hydrated. Sorry, no rain date. Join us and see all our games in action!
