During the month of October, our Social Work Team has been working with Riverview's student on topics relating to Bully Prevention/Kindness. To reinforce what we have been learning, we are having a Unity Spirit Week October 27th - October 31st. Monday 10/27 is Stand Strong, Speak Kind, Stop Bullying! Dress as a superhero; Tuesday, Be unique, celebrate differences! Mismatch Day; Wednesday, Unity Day-Orange You Glad to Stand Together? Wear Orange; Thursday, Spread color, share joy, be kind. Wear tie-dye; Lastly Friday Say "Boo" to Bullying! Dress in your favorite Halloween shirt or Halloween Colors. Students may change into their costumes on the afternoon only.

Congratulations to all our students for working hard for the first quarter. We welcome you to help us celebrate our students' citizenship, creativity, and academics on Friday, October 31st. 2nd Grade will be at 8:15; 4th Grade at 9:00; and 3rd Grade at 9:45.

You are invited to participate in the Riverview Halloween Parade on Friday, October 31st. The parade will begin at 1:30 PM near the main entrance of the school. Parents are welcome to park in the parking lot or along the street where permitted to watch the parade. Pictures may be taken at the end of the parade in the bus circle. Class parties, science experiments, and other activities will take place immediately after the parade. We understand that some families do not celebrate Halloween. If you would prefer that your child does not participate in the parade or related activities, please contact the office or your child’s teacher. We can make other arrangements for your child. Help Support Riverview’s Fundraiser at Pizza Ranch, 4797 Bluestem Rd, Roscoe, IL. When: November 5th; Time: 5:00-8:00 pm
Riverview staff and teachers will be busing your tables; 10% of all profits & all tips will go to Riverview. The funds that are raised will be used for class field trips this school year!

There will be No School on Monday, November 10th to observe Veterans Day. Veterans day is a time to honor all veterans past and present who risked their lives for us. Happy Veterans Day to our soldiers, both past and present. We owe you our thanks, but more than that, we owe you our freedom. There's no way to thank our veterans for everything they sacrifice for our freedom, but on Veterans Day, we have to try. So thank you to all our service men and women, both past and present! Riverview's students and staff.

South Beloit Food Pantry will be Wednesday, November 19th from 4:00PM- 6:00PM at Blackhawk Elementary. Pantry is for ALL families in South Beloit. When school district is closed because of weather conditions the pantry will be closed. SOBO food pantry is completely free and open to the community. Food will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
